Push-In Relay Test - Play Ball - Phoenix Contact

http://www.phoenixcontact.com/ptrelay

Play Ball!

We tested our PLC PT Relay push-in termination technology by hitting some baseballs. Some studies show that exit speeds of a hit baseball leaving a baseball tee could be 95 miles per hour or greater. We wanted to see how the retention force of our technology would hold up to the force of a hit baseball. After slugging some baseballs, this test helped prove that our PLC PT Relays have an awesome retention force. The wire connection stayed intact with no backing out.

PLC PT Relays equipped with our push-in termination technology have a reliable, long lasting connection, ideal for high vibration applications. The retention force is five times the IEC requirement. Terminations are made by simply pushing the ferruled wire into the PT terminal, using very little force. No specialized tools are required, which helps reduce installation time and costs. The PT relays ensure faster wiring, up to 60 percent faster than the screw termination style. To disconnect the wire, simply insert a screwdriver into the orange release key, push and release the wire. Our push-in technology creates a high degree of usability and includes a wide range of connections; from 26 AWG to 14 AWG wire sizes.

QUINT "ORing" Redundancy Module for Redundant DIN rail DC Power Supplie...

http://www.phoenixcontact.com/redundancy

The QUINT ORing redundancy module from Phoenix Contact is a perfect solution for machine building or the process industry. The QUINT ORing uses Auto Current Balancing (ACB) technology to ensure that redundant DIN rail DC power supplies are load-sharing evenly, which results in these power supplies being balanced. ACB technology - coupled with load current monitoring, remote diagnostics and visual indications - ensures maximum reliability in redundant power systems.

ACB technology automatically and symmetrically distributes the load current without regard to effects, such as temperature drift. With a balanced current draw, lifetime expectancy of each power supply may double. The Quint ORing redundancy module displays the status of the load sharing, generating an alarm in cases when the module nears a critical state or the redundancy is defeated.
