11 UGE Wind Turbines Power a Sustainable University in Texas

11 vertical axis wind turbines by Urban Green Energy - eight UGE-4Ks and three of the newly released UGE-9Ms - were installed in Corpus Christi. The project marked the first installation of the UGE-9M, UGE's biggest and most powerful turbine.

"A number of our faculty members have expressed great interest in this Project and the learning opportunities that it presents, for example, Dr. Karayaka, an advisor on the project, is in charge of teaching an interdisciplinary Energy Conversion course. Through the use of these wind turbines and their data acquisition and diagnostics systems, the key technical concepts in regards to the renewable energies and especially wind energy conversion can be taught to these students." - 3eWerks

The turbines are manufactured at UGE's state-of-the-art factory. The turbines are quieter than a refrigerator and are an aesthetically pleasing addition to any location. All of the turbines are mounted on galvanized steel, hurricane-rated stationary towers, a must considering the campus' location on the Gulf Coast.

Perfect for large-scale commercial applications, the UGE-9M and UGE-4K make an impressive environmental statement while offsetting massive energy costs.
